High
carat silver-topped gold sword style BROOCH. You can not say enough about this
piece...it is high Victorian in design and absolutely gorgeous. It features a
Burmese hot pink sapphire (some would call it a ruby) in a cushion cut shape
that is 5mm. X 4mm. and bezel set in a crown style setting. This piece has
an additional three round hot pink sapphires also bezel set in a crown
style setting on the sword hilt. There are
tendrils of leaves encrusted with Russian
demantoid garnets (including horsetail inclusions) wrapped around the blade of the sword
. And as a final touch, sparkly old mine cut diamonds are prong
set down the blade and hilt with a total weight of 1 carat prox. This piece is 2-1/4" long and 1" wide.
You will never wear this brooch without compliments on it. The piece is in
excellent condition, has a C-clasp, a marvelous patina and comes in a box which
is probably original to the piece
