CUFFLINKS by William Spratling. Spratling was an American who moved to Mexico in
the 1920's. His style and work is considered to be the pinnacle of the Taxco and
Mexican schools of jewelry. He is considered a giant of 20th. century
jewelry making. These Spratling designs are simple, yet powerful. The cufflinks
feature a round cabochon cut amethyst, in a rub over bezel. The backs have
a chain and round disc. The cufflinks are 17mm round, are handmade, and have the
Spratling marks for 1944-1946. The "Spratling" mark is above the
"sterling" mark. They are in excellent condition
