yellow gold onyx and white shell BROOCH. This piece is more than it seems. The
lady on the front in Elizabethan garb is exquisitely carved and detailed down to
her jewelry. There are 42 natural pearls in a trefoil shape around the
frame. The pearls are surrounded by black enameling. The back is closed and
engraved "Mary to J. M. Woodruff" and has a C-clasp closure. What more
could there be? The cameo lifts out of the frame to reveal a hidden compartment
for a memento, a lock of hair or some other lover's trinket. A special
cameo, this piece is handmade, measures 2-7/8" tall X 1-1/4" wide,
weighs 19.0 grams and is in pristine condition
