14kt. yellow gold PENDANT featuring an iridescent bug Roman micromosaic. The bug is black red, brown and  iridescent green and red. The insect sits on a field of white tesserae surrounded by a gold frame and rope twisting. The sides are done in red, white and blue tiles spaced with round balls and are encircled by a second rope twisted wire. The pendant was probably originally a tie pin. 18kt. yellow gold Art Nouveau Pate de Verre Cameo PENDANT. An enchanting piece from a bygone time, this pendant features a large amethyst Pate de Verre cameo of a classic Roman lady in profile. In traditional French Pate de Verre, the artist mixed crushed glass with enamels or paint to form a paste that was carefully placed in a mold and then fired. Many of the pieces that were made using this technique were relatively small, elaborately decorated, and required more than one firing before they were complete.  This is not small, but is done with great care and precision. The piece features unidentified European hallmarks, probably French. It is 2" long X 1-1/8" wide. There are 2 small fleabites to the chin, but these do not detract from the look of the piece, otherwise, she is in very good condition

Egyptian Revival/Ancient c. 1870

14kt. yellow gold scarab PENDANT/FOB. An extraordinary piece,  features an ancient Steatite scarab from the New Kingdom period (roughly 1650 BC -1085 BC). The frame, made in the Victorian era, is decorated with lotus blossoms. which have been featured extensively throughout the art of ancient Egypt. In various works of art, you may see it held in the hand of a god or human, serving as a border to outline a section of the artwork, unfolding to reveal various gods or humans, and many other depictions.  To the ancient Egyptians, a lotus bud or sesen was a symbol of rebirth.  It closes in the evening and falls to the water, but in the morning it opens and is lifted above the surface.  Its behavior emulates that of the sun.  Because of this rising and setting, it is also a symbol of death and rebirth.  According to one creation myth, a giant lotus emerged from the watery chaos at the beginning of time.  Out of its center, the sun itself rose on the first morning. The ancient Egyptians maintained that the sun was propelled across the heavens by means of a scarab, or sacred beetle. With the passing of time, the Egyptians created a series of amulets in the form of this beetle in a great variety of materials, and these were routinely provided with inscriptions in hieroglyphs conveniently accommodated to their stylized flat bottoms. This scarab features a flat back surface with hieroglyphs. There is the standard rounded top which looks like a scarab beetle, but the interesting feature of this piece is that the scarab swivels on a pivot in the frame, so that you can wear either side facing forward. The gold is rich and bloomed and features a nice hammered appearance. This piece can be worn as a pendant, or some type of fob. It is quite large 2" tall X 1-1/4" wide. The frame is in excellent condition, the scarab is quite old. The piece weighs 23.4 grams

14kt. yellow gold enamel flower PENDANT/BROOCH/WATCHPIN combination. A wonderful example of an Art Nouveau matte enamel piece which simulates the velvety texture of a real pansy. The top leaves are dark purple, while the bottom leaves are veined and shaded from a yellowish enamel to a darker violet. The center is a 12 point old brilliant cut, prong set diamond. The diamond is VS2, G-H color and is a sparkly counterpoint to the velvet texture of the enamel. This piece can be worn as a pendant, a brooch or as a watchpin. It is 1-1/8" tall and 1-1/2" from the pendant bail (which folds down when worn as a brooch). The enamel is in pristine condition, the brooch has a safety clasp, there are no maker's marks, the piece weighs 7.2 grams and is in excellent condition

18kt. yellow gold pendant manual wind POCKET WATCH. This is a fabulous piece with pearls and rose cut diamonds accenting the outside case. There are 37 rose cut diamonds and 100 pearls. There are another 40 pearls surrounded the white porcelain face.  The face has blue Roman numerals, gold seconds indicators and blue Arabic numbers for the minutes. The movement is ebauche and the case is numbered 146232 and features the Swiss hallmark. The watch is 1" round, can be worn from a watch pin or chain. This piece has been serviced and keeps exceptional time. This piece is extraordinary and in excellent condition

There is a flower in the center of the piece topped with platinum and holding a round prong set pigeon blood colored ruby. The leaves of the flower are encrusted with prong set round rose cut diamonds, a total of 14 diamonds in all. There are 3 small creamy white pearls representing buds. Suspended from the piece is a 6 carat (1.1 grams) natural pearl. The piece is 2-1/8" long (including pearl drop) and 1-1/4" wide. The sides are nicely pierced and the brooch has a C-clasp. Victorian c. 1860

14kt. yellow gold LOCKET in a wonderful Victorian piece. The "front" is sardonyx which has been carved with the initials "CRS". The initials are very stylized and could be other combinations of initials. The back is uncarved carnelian. The locket opens and still has one of its glass pieces.  The locket flips and locks in place very tightly. The sardonyx shows as the front, although as a locket, either side could be worn facing out.  The original pictures are in the locket and show the same woman, first in a tintype as a young woman and the second as an older woman. Both pictures show the woman wearing antique jewelry pieces. A weighty and perfect piece, the locket could be worn as a pendant and was probably originally a watch fob, perhaps from a loved one. The brooch is not included with the locket. The piece is in excellent condition

Platinum Edwardian era PENDANT. This piece features a central oval, faceted dark pink sapphire surrounded by diamonds. The sapphire is 8mm X 6mm in size, 1.5 carats in weight, and bezel set. The 12 diamonds surrounding the sapphire are round old European cut prong set stones approximately 8 points each. The bail has 2 additional 2 point diamonds for a total weight of 1.00 carat. The pendant comes with a 16" platinum chain which is of more recent vintage. The piece weighs 8.7 grams and is in very good condition

Victorian Etruscan Revival c. 1870

14kt. yellow gold Etruscan style PENDANT. A wonderfully 3 dimensional piece, the locket features lots of rope twisting and ball applied wirework on the face of the locket and bail. The reverse features a smooth barrel shaped enclosure  for a memento. The enclosure has its original glass and is 3/8" deep and can accommodate a nice size personal memento. The "door" of the locket is monogrammed either with "DEW" or "MLC" and fits securely. Modern Design/ Ancient Roman Coin 

14kt. yellow gold PENDANT centered with a Roman Denarius dating to about 100 AD. These coins were minted by the ROMAN EMPIRE during the reign of TRAJAN (98-117 AD). Trajan and his successor, Hadrian are known as the adoptive emperors. This was the Golden Era of Rome.  The coin is in very fine condition. The obverse of the coin possibly features Felicitas, the Roman goddess of happiness. The lovely handmade frame is fitted to hold the coin and not damage it. Above the coin is a bright blue, round bezel set Montana Yogo sapphire of .60 carats.  The pendant is in excellent condition. Seldom will you own a more exciting piece of history or an older piece of jewelry.

Victorian c. 1850 

18kt. yellow gold lover's token BROOCH/ PENDANT. This little beauty is a dark cobalt blue guilloche enamel brooch with white enamel encircling the blue. The gold underneath decorates the enamel and is allowed to show through in a millegrain pattern. There are 14 pearls that enhance the outside of the piece. Rose cut diamonds form inter-twined hearts topped with an enameled crown. The back of the piece is almost as interesting as the front with a glass compartment to put a love token or trinket. The original backing is under the glass. The pin stem is held by a C-clasp and extends beyond the outside of the piece, as is typical of jewelry of this age. There is a hanger for wearing as a pendant. The piece is slightly over 1" round and enamel is in excellent condition and overall  the piece is in very good to excellent condition

Russian c. 1800 

14kt. rose gold silver topped diamond PENDANT. What a wonderful, sparkly look in a small package. The Brabant  rose cut diamonds are closed and foil backed which give them an unusual bright look. Rose cut diamonds are difficult to determine the carat size, the center stone in 3.75mm and the surrounding stones are 2.5mm  each. The gold has been anodized (niello) to give the diamonds a rich look. The clarity of the stones is SI₂, the color I-J, but since the stones are foiled, this is not a precise measurement. The center stone sits above the outside stones and gives the piece an overall 3 dimensional look. The pendant is 1/2" round and drops 11/16" from the bail. This 200+ year old piece is in excellent condition

12kt. rolled yellow gold SEAL FOB in a fabulous design. The fob is centered with a faceted and foiled large oval citrine. The citrine is 24mm X 21mm and is carved with "AULD LANG SYNE"  and clasped hands. "Auld Lang Syne" means "To former glories" or "To the old days" and is Scottish in origin and made famous by Robbie Burns' poem. The seal is wonderfully made with "pleated" base, edging and a stylish top. The fob is quite large, 1-1/2" tall and can be worn on a chain. It would make a wonderful and bold pendant. The piece is in very good condition

Georgian/Victorian c. 1850

Silver-topped yellow gold handmade flower BROOCH diamond encrusted. The main flower is mounted "en tremblant" (it moves) to show the flash of diamonds at every movement. The patina on this piece is spectacular.  When candlelight was the only light, this brooch shimmered with the light of 85 diamonds and a total weight of 4-1/2 carats (approximately). It probably started life as an aigrette/brooch combination. It has been fitted with a pin stem and pendant combo with an interesting screw in mechanism which can remove the stem. The beauty of this piece is remarkable and no picture can do it justice....it is in excellent condition (considering the renovation which is itself antique), 2" overall in length and a gem of the craftsman's art
