14kt. yellow gold sautoir NECKLACE. This is a spectacular and magical piece of jewelry. This natural pearl necklace or sautoir which is a  long rope style necklace often with a tassel or pendant at the end, were popularized in the Edwardian era when Edward's Queen Alexandra wore them often. This necklace has 3 twisted strands of pearls made up of 3 strands of pearls (or 9 strands total) of the smallest of pearls. The sautoir ends in 2 pearl covered "balls" separated by a third ball in gold covered in turquoise. The gold balls are multi-faceted to accommodate the cabochon turquoise half stones. The end of the necklace features tassels of intertwined pearls strands ending in 3 pearl balls per side (or 6 total). There are too many pearls to count, but the piece is 50" long to the bottom of the tassels and is open-ended. It can be worn doubled, tripled or just knotted in the front (or back, if you dare).
