Late Georgian/Victorian c. 1840           Inventory #NE00091 

12kt. yellow gold  pendant NECKLACE in a wonderful transitional piece from the Late Georgian/Early Victorian period. This piece features 4 oval wine red cabochon cut garnets. The center garnet is 9.5mm X 7.5mm and bezel set. It features a very high dome. It is surrounded by 22 natural pearls strung on horsehair . The pearls are held in place by a rub over serrated bezel. The back is closed in as is typical during the Late Georgian period. The smaller drop has a 3.75mm X 3.0mm garnet and the stone is surrounded by 12 natural pearls. The 2 side pieces have 5.0mm X 4.0mm garnets and 14 natural pearls each. There are a total of 62 natural pearls which are white/gray and have a nice sheen. All the plaques feature closed backs. The chain is woven, double link and the necklace is 17" long. There is a replacement barrel clasp that is 14kt. yellow gold. The drop is 1-1/6" long. The back of the central plaque has a monogram of "NB" in old English script. The piece weighs 13.2 grams and is in excellent condition $1600.00
