Sterling silver bird motif BROOCH from George Jensen and designed by Christian Mohl-Hansen (1907-1909). The brooch is hallmarked "925 STERLING" with the GJ maker's mark in a rectangle and "DENMARK 165". The maker's mark is style # 8 used between 1933 and 1944. A larger version of this brooch is pictured on page 111 of "Georg Jensen" by Janet Drucker (www.druckerantiques.com). The brooch is 1-1/2" round with a very secure pin closure. This piece is in excellent condition with wear from normal use, no abuse $650.00

Bog oak and white metal BROOCH in the form of a carved and decorated bow. The Victorians loved natural materials for jewelry, this included pieces in bog oak, lava, jet, and even bugs, and birds. Bog oak is oak wood that has been submerged in a peat bog until it becomes fossilized. It is often used in mourning jewelry or sentimental pieces and was at its peak during the mid to late 19th. century after the death of Victoria's Prince Albert made mourning jewelry popular. This piece is 1-1/2" long and has carved flowers on it, has a white metal brooch fixture with a C-clasp and is in excellent condition $100.00

This vintage Taxco piece is reticulated and has 10-3/4" wide plaques each of which has recessed black annealing for a very startling three dimensional effect. Brass Bohemian garnet NECKLACE with 5 rosettes. The rosettes are progressively smaller from the center and have small drop off each. The necklace features a link chain with garnet spacers. The clasp is a box style and is encrusted with garnets. These garnets are the traditional pyrope garnets which are rose-cut. The stone are vibrant red and the clasp has "made in Czechoslovakia" on it. The necklace is 17" long and in excellent condition $425.00

Sterling silver BROOCH with a wonderful Art Nouveau era look. This Gibson girl "cameo" is a cast piece with hand finishing typical of turn of the century pieces. It 2-1/4" tall X 1-3/4" wide and is very 3 dimensional in design with the Gibson girl set in high relief. The clasp is a C-style fixture. Silver pendant style BROOCH in a special combination of colors that is typical of the Austrian-Hungarian style of the 1800's. This piece is fully hallmarked and has maker's marks which are unidentified. The brooch features oval and round cut cabochon and faceted garnets and turquoise. There is accent enamel and oval cut mother of pearl inserts. A spectacular piece, it measures 2-3/4" long (including the drop) and 2" wide. The stones and silver are in excellent condition with some enamel loss evident. The piece has full hallmarking and has not been polished. $400.00

The bracelet is 8" long and the necklace is 15" long. The bracelet and necklace can be combined to produce a necklace of 22". The leaves are a combination of scored and smooth with a heavy rope twisting separating them. The pieces are marked "SB" and Taxco, Mexico. Sterling silver BROOCH & EARRING SET in a fabulous look. The handmade "basket" brooch holds 8 total pearls as "flowers", three are 6.5mm, three are 7.2 to 7.5mm, one is 8mm, and one is 9mm. The centerpiece of the brooch is a large bezel set, cabochon cut 11mm X 14mm opal, showing pale blue and green highlights. The basket is pierced and the entire brooch has been made by hand. A true one-of-a-kind beauty, the back features a safety closure. The piece is 2-3/8" wide X 1-1/4" high and is stunning. The earrings have two 8mm pearls and two 9mm pearl dangles. They are made as screw back. A bold, high fashion look, the brooch is not marked and both pieces are in excellent condition. $450.00

Silver BROOCH of the Grant Scottish clan. All Scottish clans have a badge/crest (a coat of arms of sorts), featuring a belt twisting around an image. The Grant clan's belt has its motto, "Stand Fast", on it. Within the belt is an image of a burning hill. The burning hill signifies the call to battle. When signal fires were lit upon the Craigellachie, or "Rock of Alarm", members of the clan would gather around it in order to organize for an attack or defense. The motto, Stand Fast, is said to come from either the motto of the Norman family Le Grand (Hold Firm) or from the Norse King Haaken, who in lore tore a tree from the earth and defeated his attackers. "Stand Fast" then became a motto of Haaken's family. Haaken is said to be a distant descendant of the Grant family. The brooch features a C-clasp and is marked "Silver" on the reverse. It is 1" in diameter and in very good condition $25.00

The pieces are complemented by bright blue, faux zircon stones. The piece is in its original Krementz mock crocodile blue box and has the original tag.
